How to disable car's parking lights
 

I drive a 2007 Chevy Aveo, and for obvious reasons there are times when I don't want my parking lights on when I'm parked after dark, but I can't figure out how to disable them while keeping my engine running. Any suggestions?

Find the parking light fuse and then install some fuse taps for the positive and negative side of the fuse and put a togle switch inline so when you flip the switch it acts like you pull the fuse.

Any car stero instalation place will have the right size fuse taps.

try applying the parking break. we went to a drive in last year and they use the fm radio as the speakers. my parking lights were on and they asked me to apply my parking brake and out they went!

I find the headlight switch has an off position that not only shuts off the headlights but the parking lights as well.

(You probably mean the van's daytime driving lights.)

Back in our younger days, my cousin and I disabled his automatic headlights. The purpose was to sneak up on people who were "parking" on our land without permission. It was a blast to drive up behind them quietly without them noticing. (Not too difficult since they were paying more attention to other things.) We'd get as close as we could and then turn on the brights. Great sport watching the looks on their faces. Most of the time the girl's face said "I'm so embarassed. They probably think I'm a slut" The guys were just thinking "Man, now I'm not gonna get laid."

Yah, not much to do for entertainment out in the sticks.

To turn off the daytime running lights try setting the parking brake.
